JUNIOR RUGBY REPS.
WAIROA V. GISBORNE
TO-DAY’S CUP FIXTURE In the absence of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union's senior representative team in Wairoa, the chief •interest in Jo-day's Rugby - football programme in Gisborne centred on the junior Barry Cup game between Wairoa and Gisborne. This trophy has been competed for over several seasons, and Gisborne has had the advantage in the main. To-dnv’s match was expected, however to produce a really good display on the part of the visitors, and the issue was considered to be doubtful. Minor-grade club fixtures also were
played this afternoon on the Oval and High School grounds. Games in progress at 2.30 p.m. returned the following scores: — Third Grade H. 5.0.8. 21 v. Celtic 5. Fourth Grade (Marist 17 v. Old Boys 3.. High .School B 8 v. Celtic 3. N.Z. BOWLERS ON TOUR (Reed, Aug. 5,2 p.m.) BRISBANE, Aug. 5. The New Zealand bowlers, 73, defeated Kingaroy, 45.
