Ceremony on Maunganui.
Passengers on the Union Steam Ship Company’s liner Maunganui, which is making another Island cruise, were initiated to the South Seas in a ceremony conducted yesterday afternoon aboard the ship by Father Neptune. The clay proved a mild one with fine weather and a smooth sea. British Hospitality Arrangements have been made for Dr. W. A. Bowie, who recently relumed from a visit to England, to give an address to the Victoria League on aspects of British hospitality and British ideals. The meeting has been arranged for 2 p.m. on Monday, and men as well as women, are invited to attend,
