FIJI HOCKEY TOURISTS

WELCOME AT AUCKLAND (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A mayoral welcome was given this morning by Sir Ernest Davis -to members of the Fiji hockey team, which arrived by -the Monterey to play nine matches against provincial teams in New Zealand. Mr. W. T. Anderton, M.P., welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, and the Government. In stressing the value of visits of sporting teams, .he said the All Blacks had dene more to put New Zealand on the map than the export of butter captain of the team, M. J. Bay. expressed regret at the illness of the Prime Minister and, on behalf of the team, expressed hope for his speedy recovery.
