In Dannevirke the fall started between 4 and 5 a.m. and kept going for about five hours, a maximum of three inches falling throughout the district. The fall was considerably heavier, from five do six inches and! more, in Norsewood, Ormondville, Makotuku, and Tataramoa, and from five inches elsewhere. (Rond (transport is difficult, especially on the stretch of three miles south of Norsewood where many cars were held up.
