DENIAL OF CORUPTION

TENDERS FOR STATE WORK EXONERATION AT SYDNEY (Reed. July 29, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 28. The Royal Commission which inquired into the question of rival tenders .for the remodelling of the Sydney General Post Office, concerning which much controversy arose some weeks ago, found that the former Minister of Defence, Mr. H. V. C. Thorby, had acted precipitately, but otherwise there was no departmental impropriety and there was no suggestion of dishonesty or corruption. The Prime Minister, Mr. R. G. Menzies, in expressing gratification with the findings said he saw no reason why the successful tenderer should not proceed with the work.
