WELLINGTON APPEAL NEARLY .1*70,000 RAISED In 12 months the diocesan centennial appeal of the Anglican Church has raised nearly £70,000, bringing the sum available lor the Wellington Cathedral to £110,939, or half-way to Ms objective. The organising secretary. Canon D. B. Malcolm, reported to this effect at the diocesan synod in Wellington. After considering Canon Malcolm’s report, synod resolved: — "That the date fer the laying of Hie cathedra] foundation-stone should be about the same time as the closing national celebrations of Ihe centennial on November Hi, 19-10. "That centennial thanksgiving services be hold 'throughout the diocese on February 11. 1940. and that all offerings on that Sunday be given to the Wellington centennial cathedral fund.”
