SAVAGE CLUB KORERO PRESENTATION TO M EM PER This week’s korero, the sixth of the current season held by the Gisborne Savage Club, was a special operatic night, comprising items from favourite operas. A feature of the evening was the costuming of the members, the costumes being loaned by the Wellington Savage Club. Excellent buck-stage scenery was prepared by Savage T. G. Johns. •> The orchestra Was in good form and rendered some highly appreciative numbers. • During the evening a presentation was made to Savage L. W Patterson, who has been a member of the orchestra for the past 15 years and who is shortly to take up residence in Wairoa. On behalf of the club, the rangilira. Savage W. A. Bowie, expressed regret at Savage Patterson s impending departure and, on behnlt of his fellow-savages, presented him with a small memento of his association with the Gisboi ne Savage Club. Savage Patterson briefly responded.

The roxt korero will be held oil August 10, the chairman for the evening being Savage W. E. Melhvaine.
