The largest air raid precaution black-out yet arranged is to take place from midnight to 4 a.m. on August 10, covering half of England, including London, the Midlands and the south-east All householders will be asked to sit up to ensure that windows are adequately screened and motorists will be requested to keep off the roads. Planes of the Royal Air Force will fly over (he darkened areas searching for the glimmer o'f lights. Strict wartime conditions will prevail. Antiaircraft guns will be manned. A two months test of the balloon barrage commences on Saturday. Five hundred balloons and GOOD men will be engaged. The first 500 naval militia men are being called up on August IG. The Admiralty has decided to take 12,000 militia men a year.
