INCREASE IN LONDON CLOSING OF SERIES • (Reed. July 27, 1.50 p.m.) LONDON, July 26. At tire London wool sales to-dav, 7473 bales were offered, including 4265 New Zealand and 6057 were sold. There was a rather poor selection and the demand was less active. New ..Zealand prices were:— Greasy crossbred: 3 in circle, 10R1 to lid. Scoured crossbred pieces: Kcnnington, llijd to 13|d. Throughout the series 98,400 bales were offered and 83,000 were sold, including 43,500 from New Zealand and 31,500 from Australia. The number of bales held over is 17,000 New Zealand and 21,500 Australian. The tendency throughout has been lirm and competition has been keen. Compared with the close of the last series scoured Merinos were at par. Medium and coarse crossbreds were 10 to 15 per cent dearer and others 5 to 71 per cent dearer.
