Y.M.C.A. APPEAL

RED TRIANGLE DAY TO-MORROW’S CANVASS At r>n early hour fo-marrow mornine 'he Gi?borne Young Men’s Christian Ass'ocia'ti'on. aided toy a band of willing helpers, will launch its annual appeal for funds i>n. Gisborne and the surrounding districts. The directors of the association make an urgent request to all who are interested in the Work to respond with generosity equal to ’that which has been accorded the appeal in the past. The Y.M.C.A. Was worked among the youth of the community continuously for the past 20 year’s and during that period the public, by their response to former 'appeals, have shown their practical appreciation of 'the work tlva't hhs been accomplished. The association has shown itself ready to meet all the needs tof youth in times of prosperity and in time's of stress. Its programme is threefold in character, embracing the mental, spiritual and social 'development of its membership. The association is catering for an increasing membership and its building is totally inadequate to meet the needs of a town the size of Gisborne, particularly now when such emphasis is ■being laid on physical health and recre'ation. Citizens are assured that all money raised by the Y.M.C.A. is used exclusively in 'the work in Gisborne and the surrounding districts.
