SCOUT NOTES

GOOD MATERIAL TWO CUB PACKS JA M MOL' E E PREPAR ATIONS By “Scouter” The two Cub packs, Mangapapa and Y.M.C.A., are doing most of their work in the sunshine at present, but when the days become wanner they will have to get down to test work inside.

Both packs are fairly strong numerically, and should prove very good material for Scouts later on. Some of the Wolf Cubs have been on the sick list, and to all of these boys “Akela” sends a big cheerio, and hopes to see them back with their packs very soon. Sea Scouts Show Promise The Sea Scouts still continue to do good work and are certainly showing great promise. They are putting in a bit of time on their boat, getting it ready for the summer, .when they can have more water work. Some of the boys are doing ambulance and Morse work, and are more than holding their own in| this work. Y.M.C.A. and Mangapapa Troops The Y.M.C.A. and Mangapapa Troops are doing much hard work to prepare themselves for the jamboree. Badge work has taken up a fair amount of time, but this will cease at the end of September, when the boys for the jamboree will settle down info jamboree patrols and get right down to a different kind of work, to thoroughly acquaint themselves with the harder parts of Scout test work and campfire stunts. The boys who are making the trip are all very keen on the big adventure. A big “cheerio” is sent out to all Eoy Scouts who arc ill or have been on the sick list. Next Saturday morning all Boy Scouts who can do so are asked to report at the Y.M.C.A. at 3.30 a.m. to the general secretary (not in uniform).
