Despite tlio wintry weather, There was a -good attendance of fanners at the Addington stock sale yesterday. The sale was very satisfactory for fat stock. There was a small yarding of store sheep, and all classes, with the exception of old and ragged ewes and rough hoggets, were wanted. A pen of forward ewe hoggets made 17s Gd, and lighter sorts sold from Bs. The best two-tooth wethers made 13s ;)d.

The entry of about GOOO fat Sheep was the largest for some time. The demand was brisk from the outset. The best wethers eased slightly as the sale progressed, but 'good ewes early in the sale were Is a head dearer

and in the final stages were up another 2s a head. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 41s Id, prime heavy 30s to :i-ls 6cl. prime medium 25s to 28s Gd, light to 20s Gd; extra prime heavy owes to 31s Id. prime heavy 24s to 27s Gd prime medium 18s Gd to 23s Gd. light to 14s Gd.

The fat cattle numbered SGO. comoared with 420 last week. The sale opened briskly at the best of last week’s rates, and, after the first race, improved, values on the average being better by 10s to 15s a head for all the better classes and 10s a head for medium cattle. Extra prime heavy steers made to £2O 2s Gd. prime heavy £ls 10s to £l6 15s. prime medium £l3 las to £ls os. light to £lO 10s:_ extra prime heifers made to £l3 las Gd, prime £lO 10s to £l2, medium £3 5s to £lO. light to £3; extra prime cows made to £l4 2s Gd. prime £8 15s to £ll. medium £6 15s to £8 ss, light to £6 ss.

Values for porkers over the last two races were little better than export values. Choppers were in large supply and showed an casing of about. 10s a head. Baconcrs came forward in medium numbers. Medium to lightweights barely maintained last weeks values, and heavy-weights were down about ss. Porkers made £2 2s Gd to £2 17s Gd. the average price being 7d to 71d per lb., and baconcrs £2 15s Gd to £4 13s Gd, the average price being 61 cl to 0 : ;d per lb.
