DEPORTATION ORDER
YOUTHFUL CHINESE OVERSTAYED PERMIT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Chung Ngim, aged 19 years, who was charged in the Police Court to-day with remaining in New Zealand after the extended period of his temporary permit had expired, was ordered by the Magistrate, Mr. J. Morling, to be deported to Canton whence he came two and a half years ago on a nine months' visit to his father at Tauranga.
The Collector of Customs, Mr. Abercrombie, who prosecuted, said that the department suspected that the prospects of obtaining cheap labour was an incentive in the efforts to retain this young man in the country. He had caused considerable trouble by not answering letters and some expense to his guarantor. If he were allowed to remain, difficulty would be created in obtaining the removal of other Chniese.
