KOPUAWHARA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) The Kopuawhara School Committee met recently, there being present Messrs. H. Taylor, chairman. F. Pemberton. secretary. J. Elliot, D. Peryer, and Ci. A. Read, headmaster. The resignation of Mr. A. Rolfe, who has been a useful member for the past; five years, was accepted with regret and Mr. E. Hunter was elected' to fill the vacancy. Arrangements for the school ball on July 27 were completed. A team from Woolworths, Gisborne, played the local ladies at basketball last Saturday afternoon and proved too good .for Kopuawhara, winning by 35 goals to two. The visit was much appreciated. The visitors were guests at a dance in the evening.
