UNAUTHORISED ACTION

REMOVAL OF SOD WALL O.'OLF CLUB TENANT An unauthorised action on the part of the Gisborne Park Golf Club, in removing a major portion of the sod wall on the old steeplechase course at the Park Domain, was discussed at the meeting of the Borough Council, sitting as the Makaraka Domain Board, when correspondence between the tewn clerk and the club executive was placed before the meeting. The discussion of the correspondence was taken in committee, and the upshot was that the council instructed the town clerk to request the golf club to replace the wall. A request by the club for permission to erect “Taranaki gates” at suitable points, to give its members better facilities for moving about the course, was referred to a sub-committee, witn the aid of executive officers.
