Regimental' Competition
In a report of the Wellington Infantry Regimental Association’s reunion, published yesterday, reference was made to a competition for a trophy presented to the Gisborne association by the annual regimental reunion in Palmerston North. This reference was made in error, the trophy beina one which the Wellington Mounted Rifles Regimental Association’s branch in G-sborne had presented as a mark of fraternal interest in the reunion. The ceremony of awarding the trophy to the visiting comrade who won the competition, Mr. R. Popplewell, Nanier, was one of the humorous highlights of the evening.
