Pretty Wedding

Williamson —Luker (To tvn oi’ White Moire Taitotas Spring flowers artistically arranged by friends of the bride formed a charming setting in Holy Trinity Church, Derby street, on Saturday evening, for the marriage of Alice Sophia, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. Luker, Riverside road, Gisborne, and Frne.it Edward, son of Mrs. A. Williams and the late Mr. A. Williamson, Ormond road, Gisborne.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. K. Liggett, and Mr. D. G. Dyer presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a lovely modified Empire gown of white moire taffetas showing a V-shaped neckline, long sleeves, and a graceful bouffant skirt. Her filmy veil of embroidered tulle was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossom, and white satin slippers were worn with stockings to tone. A bnunuot of palest pink roses and camellias, combined with delicate greenery, was carried. The bridesmaid. Miss Ruth froggait. wore a high-waisted frock ol Dresden h!uo moire taffetas designed with short puli’ sleeves and a flared skirt. A cap composed of pastel--1 air'd Powers worn with a short blue veil was particularly becoming, and a shoal of irises in rich shades of blue and mauve completed the ensemble. Mr. R. Richardson was best man. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a sot of furs, and to the bridesmaid a crystal necklace. ItPliirhlful Reception Ai'or the ceremony a delightful reception was held in the lounge at f 1” v at f' A„ Fitzhcrberl street, and later dancing was enjoyed in the assemble '--’1 -to music -supplied by Stuart Skoal’s orchestra and the Young Australian Band. Spring flowers were used with

artistic effect in lho decoration of the iupper tables. Tire customary toasts were honoured. The bride and bridegroom left later for their honeymoon, which is to be spent in a tour of the North. Island. The ibride travelled in a smart powder blue suit, with accessories to tone. Mrs. Luker, mother of the bride, wore a handsome navy blue ensemble and a felt hat to match, a bouquet ot shaded camellias completing her toilette. Mrs, Williams, mother of the bridegroom, wore a graceful frock of henna cloquc with a matching hat. Her bouquet was composed of seasonal blooms in sunset tonings.
