QUIST’S FORM PRAISED

VICTORY AT BOSTON AMERICA'S HARD TASK DAVIS CUP CHALLENGE (Elec. Til. Copyright—United Press Assn.) • Reed. July 25. 9 n.m.) NEW YORK, July 21. The press warmly applauds the form of the Australian Davis Cup player, A. K. Quist, who won the Longwoocl Bowl tennis tournament - at Boston. The ter.'.iis writer of the New York Times says that Quist'showed all-round excellence and emphasises America’s formidable task in the challenge round. “It obviously was beyond Make's capacity to resist the carefully taken fiat drives 'and facile volleying of a rival whose bearing throughout reflected the cool unconcern-of a master workman with complete confidence in the fidelity and adequacy of his tools.”

The New York Herald-Tribune tennis writer says that Mako and Parker are not pulling together. Asked if he and Parker will play at Seabright, Mako replied emphatically; “We will not.” He added that he expected to pair with Sabin. Parker was obviously nettled to-day. The writer adds that tlie crowd was chagrined over the doubles default. It is reported that Mako is suffering from a lame back. That might have been the case. However, Quist was by far the better player.
