RADIO NAVIGATION TESTS

TASMAN SERVICE AIRLINE TRIP BY CENT.AURUS (Reed. July 24, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY, July 23. Successful radio navigation tests were carried out on Saturday by the flying-boat Cen'taurus over the Tasman Sea preparatory to the inauguration of the trans-Tasman air service. The Centaurus left Rose Bay base. Sydney, at 8.30 a.m. and took radio bearings from the Royal Australian Air Force station'at Richmond, returning alter a 300-mile flight over 'the Tasman. Captain L. A. Brain, operations manager of Qanias Airways, declared that the tests fulfilled every expectation.
