THE WEATHER Last Night’s Forecast a General Situation: A series of rapidly moving westerly depressions continues to cross the Dominion, where pressure has been falling steadily. Barometers, however, are now rising over Tasmania.
Forecast: Winds north-westerly at first east of the ranges and about Cook Strait, otherwise south-westerly prevailing, becoming strong at times, with gales likely in exposed positions. Seas: In New Zealand waters, moderate on the East Coast, rough on the west. Eastern Tasman: Strong south-westerly winds to gales; seas, ugh to high. Weather: For the most part fair in eastern districts, otherwise changeable and showery, and showers later extending up the east coast of the South Island. Temperatures: Becoming colder on Monday, with snow or sleet probable in the south.
