N.Z. LEAGUE CAPTAIN
R. King, who has been appointed captain of the New Zealand League team which leaves on Thursday next to tour England and France, is a school teacher. He represented New Zealand University Rugby team in 1 931. He also represented Canterbury in 1931-2-3-4. In 1935 he went to England and played League foot-
ball for the Warrington Club. He was the highest scorer among English forwards, securing 20 tries in the 1935-36 season. An English writer included King among the best 10 forwards in England. R. Banham, the vice-captain, first came into prominence two years ago with the South Sjdney Club in Sydney. and as a five-eighths was considered unlucky to miss the trip to with the Kangaroos. lie went to Auckland last season as a player-coach. He is a member of the Mount Albert Club.
