Russell was forced to swerve near the finish to avoid colliding with an opponent. He was placed second, George Smith. Honolulu, being the winner. In the second surf board race the local men far outdistanced the Australians. Chappie was fourth. Borman fifth, and Moral!) sixth. The efficiency and precision of the life-saving demonstrations by the. Australians impressed the crowd of at least 5000. The team departs on Monday in the Monterey.
