POVERTY BAY TRIAL TEAM FOR SATURDAY HAWKE’S BAY’S VISIT The selector for the Poverty Bay Football Association will submit the following selection for ratification at this week’s meeting of the executive, in anticipation of the match with the Hawke's Bay .representatives next Saturday:— Goalkeper. Sylvester (Territorials). Full-backs.—W. Appleby (Mercantile) and J. Watt (Thistle). Halves.—J. Barbour (’Mercantile), W. Hall (Mercantile) and W. Mulrooney (Thistle).

Forwards. —'Burns (Eastern Union), McGrory (Mercantile), E. Bridge (Eastern Union), A. Waugh (Mercantile), and J. Dunsmore (Mercantile). Reserves.—A. Eaton (Thistle), forward; D. Miller (Thistle) and B. Jarvic (Thistle), backs

The trial match played on Saturday provided a good display of soccer, though it was natural to expect a certain lack of combination in both the Possibles and Probables teams. The Possibles won by three goals to one. Next Saturday's match will be for he East Coast Rose Bowl, now held by Hawke's Bay.
