TOKOMARU BAY CLUB COMBINED DOUBLES (Herald Correspondent.) Tokomaru Bay Badminton Club players took part in a combined handicap doubles tournament on Monday night. Names were drawn from a had, the pairs playing together. Handicaps were very even, as the result of t'h-e matches indicated, and two new members. W. Sutherland and -Miss V. Matahiki, came out on top..from a'handicap of r. 0. The competition was a. "knock out" one and results were as follows, handicaps being shown in parentheses:— First Round.—J. Patrick and Miss Atkins (scr.) d. E. Wheeler and Mrs. H. Gardner (scr.), 15 —13; H. Gardner and Miss D. Pepper (o. 2) d. C. Squire and Miss V. Pasfield (r. 5), Js—l2; J. Griffiths and Miss J. Mitchell (r. 8) d. K. Oates and Miss M. Nevin (r. 5), 15 —12; W. Sutherland and Miss V. Matahiki (r. G) d. N. Fitzgerald and Mrs. C. Squires (r. 8), 15—11.
