BOWLING OVERSEAS

N.Z. TOUR TO BRITAIN 0181 ’.OR.Nit NOMINATION PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR The New Zealand Bowling Association has made tentative arrangements for a tour of the United Kingdom next year by a party of bowling enthusiasts from this country and lias invited district centres to offer nominations of bowlers able and keen to make the tour.

The party is to be limited in number to 40, including ladies, and though no itinerary has been arranged as yet, it is proposed that the partyshould leave New Zealand in March or April, 1940. Should the number of nominations exceed 40, a ballot will be conducted to select the personnel, as the arrangements for accommodation and entertainment in the United Kingdom must be considered. The total approximate cost of the tour will be £550 per person.

Already two Gisborne residents, Mr. and’Mrs. I. Stephenson, have signified their wish to be included in the party, and their nominations have been forwarded to the New Zealand association. Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson also have been nominated for a tour to San Francisco, which is another project of the New Zealand Bowling Association.
