“BUSMAN’S HOLIDAY”
Enjoying “a busman’s holiday” by voyaging around the world for seven months, Captain J. H. M. Van Do Vliet, of Amsterdam, has arrived at Auckland from Sydney. Captain Van De Vliet has been in the service of the K.P.M. Company since 1916, £'id is the master of the Rochuwscn, in the Java, Bali and Timor Sea service. Some years ago Captain Van De Vliet was chief officer cf the Tasman, which is row in the Mew Zealand rir'.i Captain Van De Vliet referred to the lively 'days experienced in tho North Sea during the Great War, when, hc j said, it was “quite fun to be at sea.”
