Visit of Chinese Students
On an educational visit to Now Zealand, 20 Chinese students arrived at Wellington by the Awatea from Sydney. They come from. Canton and Ilong Kong. Factory Crock Bridged Trnflic on the main East Const road no longer will suffer delays through the flooding of the Mangakino Stream, near Ruatoria. a bridge over this stream having been completed and opened for general traffic. In the past 'the crossing lias been a dangerous one at various times every winter, the stream being typical of many on the Coast which rise speedily in time of heavy rain, and run with considerable velocity while in Iresh. Reinstatement of road conditions at this crossing lias been a recurring problem for many years, and the new bridge, the approaches to which were completed yesterday, will be a boon to traflic.
