SECONDARY SCHOOLS

TOURNEY ARRANGEMENTS There 3s a likelihood of the secondary schools hockey tournament being held in Wanganui this year. Last year’s tournament was abandoned, because of an epidemic of measles. ■ The Gisborne High School was entered for last year’s games, and it is understood that the local boys will make the trip this year, pro viding no unforseen circumstances arise. The Gisborne High School has never 'had the opportunity of trying itself- out against outside secondary school teams, but the displays given in club hockey suggest, that the local boys should give a good account or themselves. A grant of £ls has been made by the New Zealand Hockey Association to help the Wanganui committee to undertake the tournament. and it is hoped that an announcement will be made shortly confirming Wanganui’s acceptance of the responsibility for this year.
