TYROL EXPULSIONS

NAZI ARMY MOVEMENTS SWISS CABINET’S PROTEST (Reed. July 13, 12 noon) LONDON, July 12. The Geneva correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that military observers believe that Italy’s expulsions of foreigners, from the Tyrol are designed to ensure secrecy for important movements of German troops across the Brenner Pass to Italy in the near future. It is pointed out that when two German divisions went to Italy last month, their presence was immediately disclosed, despite elaborate measures for secrecy'. One was a motorised Wuppertal division. It. .is now in the Italian Riviera near the French frontier. The other was a Westfalen infantry division which has since gone to Libya. A communique issued in Rome discloses that Signor Mussolini was himself responsible for the expulsion of foreigners from Tyrol. The Giornale d'ltalia declares that foreigners are free to remain whomever they want to elsewhere m Italy.

Large German, forces, specially equipped for colonial service, are reported. to be quartered around Innsbruck and Graz. It is believed that they are shortly going to Libya.

A message from Berne states that the Government of Switzerland has decided to protest to Italy over the Tyrol expulsions.
