WORLD STANDARDISATION
NEARLY 3,000,000 SOLD BRITISH SPLCIFKATIONS LONDON. June 23. Great Britain’s lead in world standardisation was demonstrated at the British Standards Institutions annual general meeting which has just been held in London, presided over by Dr. E. F. Armstrong, F.R.S. It was announced that since 1991. when the institution was first formed, nearly three million British .standard' specifications have been sold all over the world.
Of unusual interest is tire British standard of “concert pilch” in music, which was accepted at a meeting held at Broadcasting House, London, by the delegates of 10 miaous, forming a committee, including the International Broadcasting Union.
‘“lnternational agreement on industrial standards,” says the report "should do much to promote the freer passage of international trade by establishing a mutually agreed basis for the comparison of tenders emanating from different countries. At the same time, the exchange of views between the'various'experts working on- a common problem lends to remove misunderstandings and frequently brings about friendships of a lasting nature."
