HOLIDAYS CANCELLED
WAR FEARS IN BRITAIN LONDON, July G. The extent to which the fear of war is gripping the British public is reflected in the widespread cancellation of holiday bookings. Hundreds of thousands of people who normally go on holiday between July and September in various parts of Britain, are revealing themselves as so disturbed by the gravity of the European situation that they are writing or telegraphing cancelling their bookings at country or seaside resorts.
There is serious danger that this summer the holiday period will go down as one of the worst for the holiday industry since the Great War.. Continental tourist traffic is likewise at its lowest ebb.
