The Sydney City Council, which controls "the metropolitan electricity supply, to-day appointed Mr. Roger Vine Hall as general manager at a salary of £3OOO a year to succeed the present manager, Mr. Forbes Mackay. who will retire in October. Applicants from all parts of the Empire included two from New Zealand. Mr. Vine Hall has been in the city council’s employ for 35 years. He will retire four years hence.
