OIL-FROM-COAL INDUSTRY

LONDON, June 1. A new coal-oil refining plant which will, each year, transform 10,000,000 gallons of crude oil into petrol, Diesel oil, fuel oil and other products, was opened at Bolsover (Derbyshire), where an oil-from-coal distillation plant is already in operation. The new plant, covering eight acres, is the first to be erected since the Government exempted the coal-oil industry from duty for 12 years. Later its capacity may be increased to 20,000,000 gallons annually.
