TOO MANY “SMART ALECS” CLEVELAND, 0., June X. It is harder to drive safely to-day —even with all the mechanical imwovements and hard-surfaced roads — 'van it was. five or 10 years ago, says Mr. H. B. Hawkins, who has driven buses more than 1,000,000 miles in 10 years without an accident. “There are too many ‘smart alee' drivers on the roads to-day,'” he said. “They give the more experienced Irivors the jitters.” Mr. Hawkins possesses buttons, medals, pins and certificates to attest '.o his skill as a driver. “I’m proud of my no-accident record,” said Mr. Hawkins, who has “rolled” a bus through every State in '.he Union and in Canada and Mexico since first getting behind the wheel c. i common carrier in 1921.
