CONGESTION OF TRAFFIC
NO. 1 WHARF SHED PURCHASERS OF FISH Parking is now prohibited near No. 1 shed on the waterfreat, as a result of a complaint of congestion of traffic at that point placed before the Gisborne Borough Council last night. “Considerable congestion of traffic occurs on Haiti esplanade in the vicinity of No. 1 wharf shed, particularly when motorists are waiting to purchase fish at the wharf,” stated the town clerk, Mr. W. M. Jenkins. ’i:i order to allow a free passage fur vehicular traffic from the wharves, it is recommended that parking be prohibited between the island and tiie railway line.
“The lighting at the intersection of the esplanade and Haiti bridge is the subject of numerous complaints. It is recommended that the suspension light be placed in such a position at the intersection that pedestrians and cyclists can oe observed by motordrivers.” The report was adopted.
