ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
AUSTRALIAN SECTION OFFER BY SIR 11. WILKINS PLANS FOR EQUIPMENT (Reed. July 11, 2.40 p.m.) NEW YORK, July 10. The Australian explorer, Sir Hubert Wilkins, said to-day that he had sent a cable message to the Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. R. G. Menzies, offering to “privately equip and maintain” a landing party of Australian naval officials and. scientists for an Australian section in Antarctica to take advantage of co-operation with Rear-Admiral Byrd’s expedition providing the Australian Government will transport .the party in the Wyatt Earp.
