CHARGE OF REBELLION DEATH PENALTY ASKED (Reed. July 10, 9 a.m.) MADRID, July 8. The former Speaker of the Spanish Parliament* Senor Julian .Besteiro, the Moderate Socialist leader, was court martialled to-day on a charge of rebellion. The prosecutor demanded the death penalty. The sentence is to be promulgated later. This is a test case reflecting the whole position of political responsibility in Spain.
