TEAMS ON TOUR
TWO VISIT NAPIER BASKETBALL PLATERS Several Gisborne basketball teams .cured to outside centres during the week-end, two teams travelling as far as Napier. Woolwor.ths and Y.M.C.A. combined forces and travelled south on Saturday, arriving at Napier at 7 p.m. Yesterday morning Y.M.C.A. met an experienced team in cx-High School Students and they lost to the home side by 23 goals to 2. Woolworths were paying their second visit to Napier, having defeated Napier Woolwonihs in a match in Napier live weeks ago. Yesterday afternoon they lost to Hastings Woolworlhs by 13 goals lo (i. but afterwards they played a second match against the Napier team and won by 12 goals to five.
Although the weather was line, the day proved cold and all the matches were played indoors at the Napier Barracks. The Gisborne party reported that the trip was most enjoyable and warm, hospitality was extended by the Napier and Hastings girls. A •highlight of the trip home was a stop made on Wharorata Hill to ■ .inspect the snow, and the girls enjoyed the novel experience of snow-balling. Another Gisborne basketball team, Tuis. were the guests of the Matawai Basketball Club at the week-end, (playing two matches, one against Maiawai and the other against Motu representatives. The visitors won both games, the first by 19 goals to 10 and the -second by 19 goals to eight.
