SMASH ON INTERSECTION

TWO GIRLS INJURED CAR ALMOST WRECKED (Por Preis Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Injuries necessitating their removal to hospital were suffered by two sisters who were involved in a motoring collision at Papatoetoe yesterday. They were Miss Peggy Coekburn, aged 23 years, and Miss Antonia Coekburn, aged 20 years, of Papatoetoe. The collision occurred at an intersection. A two-seater small ca r in which the sisters were travelling came into collision with a saloon car driven by Leo Hunter of Papatoetoe. Both cars were forced off (he road, the larger car coming to rest in a gorse hedge and the other in a deep watercourse. The small car was almost wrecked. The two girls were found m an unconscious condition amid the shattered bodywork of the vehicle.
