SOVIET ATTITUDE MORE FRIENDLY TONE ANGLO-FRENCH EFFORTS EARLY PACT INDICATED OPINIONS IN PARIS (Elpc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. July 4, 9 a.m.) LONDON. July 3. Reports from Moscow state that the Soviet Foreign Minister, M. Molotov, has communicated to the British Ambassador, Sir William Seeds, and Ihc French representative, M. Naggiar, the -Soviet’s reply to the British and French proposals for common security in Europe. The Independent Cable Service states that it is authoritatively staled in Paris that a pact with the Soviet may now' be concluded in principle within 48 hours.

The attitude of the Soviet is reported to toe much more friendly toward Britain and France, as Indicated by the publication in full of the warning issued to the aggressors bv the British Foreign Secretary, Viscount Halifax, on Thursday. The Foreign Office yesterday received a report from the British Ambassador at Moscow, Sir William Seeds, on 'Saturday’s Anglo-French talks with -M. (Molotov. It u'as not thought likely, however, that the Prime Minister, Mr. -Neville Chamberlain. <at question time in the House of Commons to-day, would have anything of importance to add to his earlier statements regarding the Moscow negotiations.
