KAITARATAHI NEWS
EUCHRE TOURNAMENT (Herald Correspondent.) The last of a .series of euc'hre tournaments was held in the Kaitarafahi Hall on Thursday evening, there ■being a fair attendance of players. The games wore controlled by Mr. J. Lucas, and a dainty supper was •served by a (committee of ladies. The (following players received attractive prizes:—Aggregate.—Mrs. B. Joel. 1; Mrs. J. Lucas, 2; Mrs. A. Buckingham, 3. Genltlemen, — '■ Mr. J. Atkins, 1; Mr. A. Buckingham, 2; Mr. L. Crosswell, 3. The evening’s winners were: — Ladies. —Mrs. G. Croon, 1; Mrs. J. Lucas, 2: Mrs. A. Buckingham, 3. Gentlemen. —Mr. J. Buchanan, 1; Mr. E. Stone, 2: Mr. E. O’Dwyer, 3.
Among ithosc present were Mc'sdames B. Joel, M. Williams, J. Mullooly, G. Croon, A. Buckingham, J. Lucas, N. 'Wilton, J. Atkins, M Brown, and L. Crosswell; Misses K. Williams and: G. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Knight, Manutuke, were the guests .of the latter’s .father, Mr. W. J. Comm, for the week-end.
