By “Trenton" The Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting will open to-morrow at Trentham, when the win-and-place system of betting will be in operation. As usual, big fields are engaged in five events, and at the time of writing divisions will he required in both the Woburn and Whyte Handicaps, unless at least four runners are scratched in each event. The remaining three races, which include the big race of the day, the Wellington Steeplechase, have drawn comparatively small fields.
