VICTORY FOR McCREADY
MARTINEZ SLAMMED SCIENTIFIC BOUT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A scientific exhibition of wrestling was witnessed at the Town Hail on Saturday evening, when Earl McCready, British Empire heavyweight champion, defeated Ignacio Martinez, Spanish-American, by one fall. This was l obtained in the seventh round. Martinez attempted to lift and slam his opponent but missed, and he in turn was lifted and hurled heavily to the mat, McCready then pinning his opponent with a body press. The contest was witnessed by a large house.
