(Our Own Correspondent.! The monthly meeting of the above was held at Kumnia last evening. I're-ent Messrs .MeOlone (chair), Haytnes, Calmer, F.vendeti, Rouse and Jorgenscn, Mr Rouse apologised for Mr Kennedy who has gone !<> I'nlmerstoii North. From the Hon. Mr. Buddo stating thai the matter of extension of water mains to the hospital did not come under bis department and had been referred to the Hon. Mr Fowlds.

Fmn Yep Won and Suck, on behalf of the Chinese, forwarding £l4 8s annual subscription to the hospital. It was resolved thai a letter of thanks be forwarded acknowledging the donation.

From Dr. Morkane applying for leave of absence intimating that he had obtained the services of a suitable locum tenons.

I»n the motion of Mr [faymes seconded by Mr Jorgensen it was decided Ui grant the application for leave for whatever period required and to vote half salary for a month as a bonus.

Mi May ines moved and Mr Kveitden seconded that a \ote of thanks be passed lo the collectors at the spoils and also that a letter of thanks he forwarded to each collector. -Carried. Mr Mc.filwio, on behalf of the House Commit lee. reported favourably on the hospital generally for the month. Mr Ilavmes was appointed on the House Committee in place of Mr MeOlone retired.

Accounts amounting to £146 16s were passed for payment. This concluded the ordinary business, The secretary was (lien Voted to the chair and the election of president for the ensuing year proceeded with. Mr Rouse proposed and Mr Jorgensen seconded that Mr "Palmer be elected president, Mr Palmer thanked his proposer and so lor, but said that he would have to decline nomination for reasons of health.

Eventually the election nf officers was held over till next meeting.
