The criminal session' of the Suprente Court commenced to-day before Mr Justice Cooper. In charging the Grand Jury, his Honor said ho regretted that there was a considerable amount of business to transact. There wero 37 charges against eighteen different persons. "Many of the cases came from the country districts. Still it was bo regretted that the calendar was •ivcr than usual in Welington and offences which were charged against respective persons were for the most part of a serious nature. There were a. number of cases of househouse breaking and assault and robcry and highway robbery indicating (ho presence of number of undesirable jMHtple. George Wordley, a youth, on two charges° of forgery at Pnlinerston was "sentence*] f'o twelve months' imprisonment with (he provision ihat he may bo removed to an industrial school. . .'
