(per press association —COPYRIGHT.)

New York* Jan 25.

The Germans having newly armed and manned the ex-Venezuelan gunboat Eestaurador, she joined the hlockaders at Laguayra rvnd anchored close in shore. This caused much indignation at the populace who consider the employment of a gunboat is intended as an incitement of her relation in view cf the continuance of shelling San Carlos until Saturday, when two German warships sailed for Curacoa, the Panther still remaining. A demonstration was made against the Eestaurador, rifle shots from the shore causing her retreat. She is now anchored under the proteoticn of the guns of the British cruiser Tribune. Washington officials strongly suspect that Germany has ulterior aims. London, Jan 25. The newspapers unanimously denounce the bombardment'of San Carlos and uige Britain to disassociate herself with Germany as soon as possible. Eeuter's agent at Maracaiba reports that the Venezuelan flag still flies on the San Carlos fort despite the German declaration that the fort is destroyed.
