PROHIBITION DEBATE.
{To the Editor..) Sib,—l shall be glad if you will kindly aliow me to contradict the statement that a debate haa been arranged between Mr Trestrail and myself at Hokitika or anywhere else. I have had no communication from Mr Trestrail since the debate in the Opera House, with the result of which lam quite satisfied. If he or any of his supporters are not, and desire to discuss the matter further I will try to oblige them,'.but I have not yet received any intimation of such a desire. Yours etc.,— T. M. Smith.
