TURF SLANG.
Racing Terms that are Queer but Expressive. E icing men have a phraseology of their own which is at once extensive and peculiar, says the “Daily Express.” So extensive is it, that one is unable, within the compass of a brief article, to enumerate and define a tenth part of the curious terms habitually used by bookmakers and other followers of the turf. It is to be hoped that a student of slang will some day do the subject full justice. He will find heaps of material —enough, in fact, for a dictionary of respectable size.
