THE JANET WALDORF SEASON.

"As You Like It."—To-night,

The long-looked-f or visit of Miss Janet Waldorf, the charming young American actress, and her brilliant company is all but consummated, for both will appear for the first time in Greymouth, at the Opera House, this evening, when will be produced for the first time here Shakespeare's glorious comedy, " As You Like it." In this charming work Miss Waldorf sustains the part of the beauteous Kosalind and Mr Norval Macgregoz that of Orlando, two of the most entertaining roles in the whole realm of comedy. In addition to the fascinatingly humorous love-making of these two, there are the melancholy musings of Jacques (who voices the immortal "Seven Ages " speech), the quips and cranks of Touchstone; the bucolic idiocies of Audrey; and the ridiculous wooing of Phoebe by the love-sick Sylvius. In the first act is the famous wrestling match between Orlando and Charles the Wrestler, in which two of the members of the company give a fine display of the " catch-as-catch can " style of wrestling. Almost the whole of the play takes place in the Forest of Arden, for which a very fine scene has been painted by " Alta." The play will be produced under the direction of Mrs A. Dow Currier, and the musical arrangements are in the hands of Mr Harold Campbell. There is little doubt but that the seating accommodation will be taxed to its utmost capacity. .
