CYCLISTS AND THE COMPENSATION FOR ACCIDENTS ACT.

Chbistchuech, December 23. At a meeting of League of New Zealand Wheelman to-night the solicitors to the Union read an opinion with regard to the Workers Compensation for Accident’s Act. In order that a person who is injured or his representatives if killed could obtain compensation it must be established that he was engaged in employment to which the Act referred at the time the injury occurred and that the relation of master and servant ex isted a the time of the accident.
The opinion was also expressed that Club committees might be liable for damages to a rider on the track while racing if it could bo proved the injury was caused by negligence of the Club. At a special meeting of the Union a resolution that the league take over control of riders in road races was lost, but it was decided to refer the whole question to the centres. A motion regarding entrance fees to be charged not exceeding 5 per cent of the prize money was carried.
